We are working with a client in Cardiff who is looking to recruit a full-time Family Support Worker to join their Interventions Hub.

The Interventions Hub plays a vital role in ensuring families receive the right help at the right time. This role sits within early intervention and prevention services, supporting families to access a range of tiered support with the aim of preventing escalation to statutory social work intervention.

As a Family Support Worker, you will work directly with children, young people, and their families to enhance parenting capacity and improve outcomes for children and young people. You will deliver practical, strengths-based interventions that promote children's health, development, and overall wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities


  • Work directly with children, young people, and families to provide early intervention and preventative support

  • Support parents to build on their capacity to meet their children's needs

  • Deliver targeted interventions for families where children are identified as being in need

  • Promote children's health, development, and life chances

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and partner agencies to ensure coordinated support

  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to reviews and plans as required

  • Manage your own workload effectively while contributing positively to a team environment


Key Requirements


  • Experience of working with children, young people, and their families

  • A strong commitment to improving outcomes for children and supporting families

  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team

  • Self-motivated, well organised, and adaptable

  • Willingness and ability to work flexibly to meet service needs

  • A full, valid driving licence and access to your own vehicle


Contract Length: 3-6 months with a view to extend to an ongoing contract.
Pay Rate: £18.92
Working pattern - 37 hours per week.
