We are working in partnership with a Local Authority in Manchester to appoint a Family Contact Worker to join their LAC Services.
Role Overview:
The Family Contact Worker will oversee family interactions with looked after children, ensuring a safe and supportive environment. Responsibilities include observing family time, offering guidance, and providing necessary support to families. A crucial aspect of the role involves conducting assessments and offering valuable insights to enhance family dynamics.
Requirements:
- Car and driving license essential.
- Contract Length: 3-6 months (potential for ongoing extension).
- Pay Rate: £17+ per hour (negotiable based on experience).
- Location: Manchester Based
- Working Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate, supervise, and observe family interactions, providing necessary support and guidance.
- Conduct assessments of supervised family visits according to the agreed plan.
- Contribute to the ongoing assessment of families in need, ensuring child safety and well-being.
- Maintain accurate records of interactions and provide relevant information as required.
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of Child Protection and social work procedures related to court proceedings.
- Contribute to the assessment of children and families' needs using recognized frameworks.
