Early Intervention and Accommodation Officer

Spencer Clarke Group are seeking an Early Intervention and Accommodation Officer for a Local Authority Client in Berkshire.

In this role, you will prevent homelessness by providing early intervention support, building relationships with landlords, and helping households secure and sustain private rented accommodation.

Duties:

• Prevent homelessness through early intervention, housing advice, and mediation with landlords, families, and other parties.
• Secure private rented housing by engaging landlords and agents, negotiating tenancy terms, and promoting incentive schemes.
• Support households to find, secure, and sustain accommodation, including through the Find Your Own Accommodation scheme.
• Ensure compliance and good practice by carrying out assessments, maintaining accurate case records, and working with partners to deliver joined-up support.

Qualifications and Experience:

The successful candidate will have the following skills / experience:

• Experience providing housing advice and preventing homelessness.
• Experience working with private landlords and securing tenancies.
• Experience conducting housing assessments under the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.
• Experience managing varied caseloads and supporting vulnerable households.

What's on offer:

Salary: £32ph

*may negotiate higher for exceptional candidates, based on experience*

Contract type: 6 months minimum, with a high likelihood of extension

Hours: Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week
