Disrepair Surveyor (Housing Repairs and Maintenance)
Location: London (Hybrid)
Rate: £350 Per Day
Contract: 6 Months

Spencer Clarke Group are recruiting for a Disrepair Surveyor to support a busy Housing service within a large public sector organisation in London. This is a role focused on resident-led disrepair cases, inspections, diagnosis, specifying remedial works and driving quality delivery through contractors and partners.

You will complete frequent site visits, maintain strong resident communication and keep accurate digital records and reports. You will also work closely with internal teams (including compliance and building safety) to ensure works meet required standards, legislation, and best practice.

Responsibilities include

• Inspecting homes to assess disrepair, diagnose defects, and agree remedial actions
• Producing clear specifications and schedules of work, obtaining estimates, and monitoring delivery and spend
• Auditing contractor performance, validating completed works and invoices, and managing snagging to sign-off
• Supporting dispute resolution by liaising with housing and legal teams and providing robust evidence
• Updating asset and case records, producing reports, and maintaining accurate digital documentation
• Ensuring compliance with relevant health and safety requirements and housing-related legislation

About you

• Strong residential surveying background across repairs and maintenance, ideally within social housing or local authority environments
• Experience administering building and partnering contracts
• Confident handling resident engagement and sensitive case communication
• Working knowledge of HHSRS, stock condition surveying, and asbestos-related requirements
