Spencer Clarke Group are supporting a local authority housing service in the South East to appoint an experienced Contracts Manager to lead effective procurement and strengthen contract management across Housing.
You'll support best value, compliance, and robust governance across a portfolio including repairs & maintenance, major works, professional services and ICT, totalling £6m+ per annum.
Responsibilities include:
- Advising Housing on procurement and contract management, ensuring compliant processes and strong controls
- Managing a range of housing contracts, identifying risk and improving operational/financial performance
- Maintaining contract governance and updating the council's contract management system and contracts log
- Supporting contract performance reviews and producing reports/options appraisals
- Working closely with procurement, finance and legal teams to obtain concurrence
- Producing guidance and delivering training, including forward planning of procurement activity
About you:
- Proven public sector / local authority procurement & contract management experience (Housing desirable)
- Strong knowledge of relevant procurement rules/standing orders and associated legislation
- Confident stakeholder management and clear report writing
