Contracts Lawyer
Rate: £40-£50 per hour - Negotiable DOE
Contract Length: 6-month initial contract

We are currently recruiting for an interim Contracts Lawyer on behalf of a London Borough Council.
In this role, you will be required to take the lead on complex and specialist contract matters, playing a key role in advising on joint commissioning initiatives, public-private partnerships and procurement activity across the Council.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle a personal caseload of complex contract advice and agreement preparation, including unique and specialised contractual arrangements.
- Advise and assist with joint commissioning initiatives, including negotiations with Health Authorities, other local authorities, partners and preferred bidders.
- Support the Principal Lawyer in advising on and drafting contracts and protocols relating to public-private partnerships and other collaborative arrangements.
- Provide advice on complex procurement and tender documentation.
About You
You will be an experienced and qualified Contracts Lawyer with:
- Substantial knowledge of contract and procurement law within a local authority context.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills with a pragmatic, solution-focused approach.
- The ability to manage complex and high-risk legal matters under pressure.
