Contracts and Procurement Solicitor

Rate: £50-£60 per hour - Negotiable DOE

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented Contracts and Procurement Solicitor to join a Yorkshire based Local Authority.

In this role, you will act as a senior advisor on commercial contracts, procurement, funding arrangements, and dispute resolution, working closely with colleagues, stakeholders, and partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, negotiate, and interpret commercial contracts for goods and services.
  • Provide strategic legal advice on Public Procurement Regulations, tender processes, and compliance with standing orders and relevant statutory legislation.
  • Support major projects and funding arrangements, ensuring robust legal governance.
  • Collaborate with the wider Legal Projects, Procurement & Commercial team to provide a seamless service.

About You
To be successful in this role, you will be:

  • A qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Fellow of CILEX entitled to hold a practising certificate.
  • Experienced in commercial law, with recent post-qualification experience (preferably in a public sector setting).
  • Skilled in drafting and negotiating commercial agreements and advising on procurement law.
  • A strong communicator with the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
