This is a full-time position starting as soon as possible and offers a highly rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of young people who require additional support to access education and develop essential life skills.

This role would suit someone with previous experience working within a SEND school or specialist educational setting. However, we also welcome applications from individuals who have strong transferable skills gained in care homes, residential settings, supported living environments, youth work or other support-based roles.

About the Setting

The provision supports young people aged 11 to 19 with a wide range of complex needs. Students may present with:

  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

  • Physical disabilities

  • Communication and language difficulties

  • Medical needs

  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs

Many students require personalised learning approaches, structured routines and high levels of adult support to help them develop academically, socially and emotionally. The environment is supportive, nurturing and focused on promoting independence, dignity and respect for every learner.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers, therapists and the wider SEND team to ensure students are fully supported throughout the school day.

  • Promoting independence, confidence and life skills development

  • Managing behaviours positively in line with agreed behaviour support plans

  • Supporting students during break times, transitions and enrichment activities

  • Contributing to a safe, structured and engaging learning environment

This role requires patience, emotional resilience and the ability to build trusting relationships with young people who may experience communication barriers, anxiety or behavioural challenges.
