We're supporting a client in recruiting a passionate and experienced Registered Manager to lead a children's residential home. The role involves overseeing a team of residential staff, ensuring the highest standard of care, and creating a safe, supportive environment where children can thrive and reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the Registered Manager for the home and ensure it runs to a high standard.
  • Make sure care delivered meets legislation, policies, and quality standards.
  • Safeguard children, promote their welfare, and ensure concerns are reported correctly.
  • Oversee education, development, health, and daily activities for each child.
  • Work closely with families, social workers, health professionals, and other agencies.
  • Lead and support the staff team through supervisions, appraisals, and training.
  • Manage the home's rota, staffing levels, and recruitment when needed.
  • Ensure records, care plans, and statutory documents are accurate and up to date.
  • Maintain a safe, well-kept home environment and act on any required maintenance.
  • Monitor budgets, spending, and ensure the home remains financially stable.
  • Respond to recommendations from Ofsted and ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Encourage a positive, inclusive culture within the staff team and the home.


Key Requirements

  • Previous experience in a leadership role within children's residential care.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding, care standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Level 3 or Level 5 qualification in Residential Childcare (or working towards).
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and support a staff team.
  • Confident in managing reports, rotas, budgets, and inspections.
  • Flexible approach to working hours when needed (e.g., on-call, sleep-ins).
  • Commitment to providing high-quality, child-centered care.
