We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Childcare Lawyer to join a highly regarded Social Care Legal Team in the northeast region.

This role offers the chance to work on sensitive, complex and rewarding Children's Social Care matters, providing high-quality legal advice and advocacy to support the Council in meeting its statutory safeguarding duties and achieving the best possible outcomes for children and families across the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Providing high-quality legal advice and assistance to the People Directorate on Children's Social Care matters.
• Conducting a varied caseload including public law and private law proceedings, as well as Deprivation of Liberty matters.
• Advocacy in court proceedings where appropriate.

Key Requirements

• Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or CILEX Lawyer with a current practising certificate.
• Proven experience in Children's Social Care law.
