Child Care Support Worker

We are working in partnership with a local authority in the Caerphilly area to recruit dedicated Child Care Support Workers to provide essential support to children, young people, and their families or carers within placements and community settings.

You'll assist qualified officers in fulfilling statutory duties for children who are looked after or have care and support plans, contributing to assessments, planning, and reviews to ensure positive outcomes.

Key Duties

• Provide direct, practical, and emotional support to children, young people, and families.
• Build trusting relationships to promote wellbeing and safety.
• Support care and support plans under the direction of senior staff.
• Maintain accurate and timely case records.
• Liaise effectively with partner agencies and attend relevant meetings.
• Transport children and young people to appointments when required.
• Work flexibly, including evenings and weekends, to meet service needs.

Key Requirements:

Qualifications:

• Level 2 Care qualification or equivalent (CQFW or similar).

Knowledge & Skills:

• Understanding of safeguarding, confidentiality, and child development.
• Ability to communicate clearly and build positive relationships.
• Competent in using IT systems and maintaining accurate records.
• Able to manage priorities in a busy and changing environment.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a business-insured vehicle.

Experience:

• Experience supporting children, young people, and families in complex situations.

Other:

• Enhanced DBS check (Children) required.

Contract length: Initial 12 weeks - with expectation of ongoing extension.

Rate of Pay: £14.36-£18.10 (Negotiable DOE)

Hours: Full time, 37 hours each week.
