Job Title: Building Services Design Engineer
Contract: 3-months minimum
Location: North-West England, Hybrid
Day Rate: TBC
Spencer Clarke Group are seeking an experienced Building Services Design Engineer with a mechanical bias to support a public sector Building Design Team delivering a wide range of building and refurbishment projects.
You will be responsible for the design, specification and delivery of Mechanical Building Services projects, working either in a lead or supporting role depending on project size and complexity. The role also includes managing external consultants, providing technical assurance and ensuring projects are delivered to programme, budget and required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and specification of Mechanical Building Services including HVAC, heating, hot and cold water systems, ventilation, air conditioning, gas systems, BMS and legionella mitigation
- Project management and delivery of mechanical services projects from design through to completion
- Technical support to project managers and senior engineers across the programme
- Management of external design consultants, monitoring performance, quality and KPIs
- Liaison with internal services and other design disciplines to ensure coordinated delivery
- Provide specialist mechanical engineering advice to internal and external stakeholders
- Lead or support technical discussions relating to mechanical building services solutions
- Support senior engineers in the overall delivery of building services programmes
Requirements
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent discipline
- Significant experience in Mechanical Building Services design and delivery
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and associated building services
- Experience managing consultants and contributing to multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to manage small to medium scale projects and competing priorities
- Membership of a relevant professional body such as CIBSE, or working towards chartership (Desirable)
- Public sector or similarly regulated environment experience
