Job Title: Behaviour Support Assistant
Location: Rochdale.
Hours: Monday - Friday, 08:30 - 15:30, Term Time Only.
Salary: From £106 per day, DOE.

This dedicated SEMH school providing education and support to pupils aged 11 to 16 years old. Their mission is to create a nurturing and inclusive environment where every student can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. They pride themselves on their committed staff team who work tirelessly to support the students' individual needs.

The Role:

We are seeking dedicated Support Staff to join the team. As a Support Staff member, you will play a crucial role in supporting the delivery of lesson materials, assisting other staff members, and providing one-to-one support to students both in small group settings and on a 1:1 basis. The students may display challenging behaviour, so resilience and experience in managing behaviours are essential qualities for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to teachers in the delivery of lesson materials, adapting activities to meet individual student needs.
  • Assist in maintaining a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Work closely with students, offering both group and one-to-one support as required.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies effectively, ensuring the safety and well-being of all students.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to develop and implement individualised support plans for students.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with students with SEMH needs, preferably within a school setting.
  • Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues.
  • A flexible and adaptable approach to work, with a willingness to support students both academically and emotionally.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available later.
