Behaviour Mentor - Specialist Provision

We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Mentor to support children and young people with SEND, SEMH and behavioural needs within a specialist provision in Leyland.

This rewarding role involves working closely with pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis, helping them manage behaviour, build confidence, and engage positively with learning in a safe and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide behaviour and emotional support in and out of the classroom

  • Support de-escalation and positive behaviour strategies

  • Deliver targeted interventions and mentoring

  • Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and staff

Requirements

  • Experience supporting children or young people with additional or behavioural needs

  • Calm, patient and proactive approach

  • Enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

  • Minimum 24 months of employment references with no significant gaps

  • Full-time, term-time availability

This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
