Behaviour Mentor - Pupil Referral Unit (PRU), Rochdale
Are you passionate about supporting young people to make positive changes and achieve their full potential? We're looking for a confident and resilient Behaviour Mentor to join a dedicated team at a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Rochdale.
Position: Behaviour Mentor
Hours: Monday - Friday, Term Time
Location: Rochdale
About the Role:
As a Behaviour Mentor, you'll work closely with students who may display challenging behaviour or have experienced barriers to learning. Your role will focus on building trusting relationships, providing emotional and behavioural support, and helping pupils re-engage with education in a positive way.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-to-one and small-group mentoring for pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural needs.
Implement behaviour management strategies and support de-escalation using Team Teach or similar approaches.
Support teaching staff in creating a calm, safe, and inclusive classroom environment.
Help pupils develop confidence, self-regulation, and positive coping strategies.
Liaise with parents, carers, and outside agencies to ensure consistent support.
The Ideal Candidate:
Experience working with young people with challenging behaviour, preferably in a PRU or alternative provision.
Resilient, patient, and committed to making a difference.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Team Teach training (or willingness to undertake).
