Rate: £50-£60 per hour - Negotiable DOE

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified Solicitor to join the Council's Community Legal Team, specialising in Adult Social Care and Community Care law.

This is a varied and rewarding in-house role providing high-quality legal advice and representation across adult protection and community care matters, supporting the Council's statutory functions and safeguarding responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

As Solicitor within the Community Team, you will:

• Provide expert legal advice on Adult Protection and Community Care matters.
• Prepare and conduct litigation on behalf of the Council.
• Draft and issue applications to Court for statutory orders.
• Represent the Council before Courts, Tribunals, Hearings and Inquiries (including conducting advocacy where required).

Key Requirements

• Qualified as a Solicitor or Barrister, holding a current practising certificate or rights of audience.
• Experience and knowledge within Adult Social Care / Community Care law.
• Practical knowledge of public law and local government practice.
• Strong advocacy and communication skills.
