About the Role

We are currently working with a supportive primary school in Preston seeking an experienced ANTA (Additional Needs Teaching Assistant) to provide targeted support for pupils with SEND.

This is a long-term opportunity for a skilled and confident support professional who is passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning and thrive within a mainstream school environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language difficulties, and learning delays
  • Support pupils with emotional regulation, behaviour, and engagement in learning
  • Adapt learning activities and resources to meet individual needs
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement personalised strategies and support plans
  • Promote inclusion, independence, and positive behaviour throughout the school day

About You

The successful candidate will have:

  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, ANTA, or SEN Support Assistant
  • Strong knowledge of SEND support strategies
  • A calm, patient, and nurturing approach
  • Confidence supporting children who may present with challenging behaviour
  • A proactive, team-focused attitude and strong communication skills

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 14.3% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
