Post 16 SEND Officer- North West Local Authority

£320 per day

3-6 month initial contract

Spencer Clarke Group are looking for a Post-16 SEND Officer to join our Local Authority client in the North West. You will play a key role in coordinating EHCPS, supporting effective transition planning, and working with young people, families, education providers, and partner agencies to ensure learners receive the right support to prepare for adulthood.

Essential Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of SEND legislation, including The Children and Families Act 2014, SEND Code of Practice 2015 and SEND Regulations 2014
  • Significant experience within Post-16 SEND teams in a Local Authority.
  • Experience of managing a caseload of young people with EHCPs and coordinating annual reviews

Duties include:

  • Support young people through transition planning from school into further education, employment, apprenticeships, supported internships, or adult services.
  • Provide advice and guidance to young people, parents, carers, and professionals regarding SEND processes, EHCPs, and statutory responsibilities.
  • Act as the main point of contact for young people, families, colleges, training providers, and partner agencies.
