Family Support Practitioner

Spencer Clarke Group are seeking a Family Support Practitioner for a Local Authority Client based in East London.

As the Family Support Practitioner, you will work as part of a dynamic team of early help practitioners to deliver interventions as part of a wider multi-agency system, providing intense support to families with multiple and complex needs.

About the role:

You will be tasked with delivering key strategic objectives:

• Conduct comprehensive family assessments to identify needs and strengths and develop individualised support plans with agreed outcomes.
• Provide structured and individual support to children and families, coordinating with other professionals to ensure a holistic approach.
• Act as a lead professional for individual families, coordinating and sharing information to support a team around the child.
• Deliver parenting groups and workshops to support parents in understanding their child's needs and enhancing their parenting skills.

About you:

The successful candidate will have the following skills / experience:

• Experience delivering parenting support programs, groups, or forums to vulnerable families.
• Knowledge of child development, safeguarding procedures, and equal opportunities principles.
• Significant experience working with children and families, in a similar role.
• Experience carrying out child centred holistic family assessments.

What’s on offer

Salary: £20+ per hour

*may negotiate higher for exceptional candidates, based on experience*

Contract type: 3-6 months minimum, with a high likelihood of extension

Hours:  Monday – Friday, 36 hours per week
