We're working with a welcoming and well-regarded secondary school in Newcastle seeking an English Teacher to join their team from September 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity to teach across KS3 and KS4 in a supportive environment, where staff are encouraged to share ideas, develop their practice, and contribute to a positive school culture.

The school has a strong and collaborative English department with a clear focus on raising attainment and fostering a genuine love of reading and writing. You'll be teaching well-structured schemes of work, with the autonomy to bring your own creativity into the classroom. Behaviour is well-managed, and there is a clear emphasis on consistency and support from leadership, allowing you to focus on delivering high-quality lessons.

This role would suit both an experienced teacher and an ECT looking to develop within a supportive setting, with access to ongoing CPD and opportunities to grow professionally.

What we're looking for:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching English at secondary level (KS3 & KS4)
  • Strong classroom management and the ability to build positive relationships with students
  • A passion for engaging and inspiring students through English
  • Commitment to raising attainment and supporting learners of all abilities

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
