Spencer Clark Group Celebrate International Coffee Day with Blind Taste Test Challenge

​To celebrate International Coffee Day on October 1st, seven of Spencer Clarke Group’s biggest coffee lovers were put to the ultimate blind taste test to identify a number of unique coffees from around the world.

The range of mystery coffees to be identified included Chilli Chocolate, Mulled Wine, Strawberries and Cream, Lychee, Bubble Gum and Pumpkin Spice.

With two of the coffee testers having previous experience as Baristas, the competition was fierce but it was Recruitment Support Officer, Georgia Parkinson and Compliance Manager, Annabelle Harwood who were victorious after correctly identifying 5 out of 10 coffees correctly.

“I take my coffee very seriously so I’m thrilled that Annabelle and myself worked out half of the flavours!” said Georgia Parkinson.

The first ever International Coffee Day was launched in Milan on October 1st 2015 by the International Coffee Organisation. The creation of the event was partly inspired by the need to support coffee farmers around the world and to ensure that they can earn a fair wage for their labor.
