An Educational, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) Writer will write an EHCP which is fully compliant with the Children and Families Act. They must interpret and adhere to the principles and statutory processes described in the SEN Code of Practice.

A SEN Case Officer is the primary and first point of contact for a child or young person (and their family) with a Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). A SEN Case Officer will work alongside EHCP Coordinators and SEN Team Managers to provide comprehensive casework management to ensure the effectiveness of the Local Authorities SEN service.

A SEND Tribunal is an independent national tribunal which considers appeals against Local Authorities regarding decisions surrounding the special educational needs of children and young people. 

A SEND Team Manager is responsible for improving outcomes for students identified as having Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. They are also in charge of monitoring the provisions needed for such students on a day to day basis to help them achieve in an educational setting. 

The main responsibility of a SEND Improvement Consultant is to identify areas that need improvement and to support the SEND service within a Local Authority to implement the required improvements.
