A Carpenter uses different types of wood to design, cut and build furniture and fittings such as staircases, door frames and cabinets. In order to complete work to a high standard, a Carpenter will have to use a variety of different hand tools such as hammers, drills and saws. 

A Bricklayer is a skilled tradesman who specialises in laying bricks and constructing brickwork such as walls, commercial buildings, residential buildings and chimneys. 
Bricklaying is related to the craft of masonry which is the art of using stone, clay, brick or concrete to construct buildings and other important structures.

An Electrician is a highly skilled tradesperson whose job it is to design and install new electrical wiring systems, whether this be for buildings, transmission lines, machinery or other electronic equipment.

A Painter and Decorator is a skilled tradesperson who uses a variety of tools and materials to bring an indoor room or outdoor space to life. They generally work with materials such as paint, fabric, varnish and wallpaper to improve the aesthetic of a room and add finishing touches to a renovation.

A Plumber is a skilled tradesperson responsible for fitting, maintaining and repairing water systems in different types of infrastructure that are used for drinking water, irrigation and sewage. To successfully fit and repair such systems, a Plumber must be skilled in cutting and joining pipes. 

A Multi Skilled Tradesperson is responsible for carrying out multiple different trades such as carpentry, tiling, plastering and plumbing. Being trained in more than one trade means there is a lot of variety in the type of work a Multi Skilled Tradesperson can be expected to complete. 

A Building Inspector is responsible for deciding whether a building meets building code requirements. The role involves sampling and measuring building materials to ensure they are of a high quality and inspecting a building at different stages of the project such as the commencement and excavation stages. 

An Assistant Site Manager is employed to provide onsite assistance to a Construction Site Manager. An Assistant Site Manager is responsible for keeping check on the cost of construction materials and ensuring that construction projects are completed within an allotted budget. 

A Grounds Maintenance Operative is responsible for undertaking a range of maintenance activities to keep outdoor areas clean and tidy. The role may involve cutting grass, hedge trimming, planting and landscaping. 

A Joiner is a skilled tradesperson who creates important structures primarily out of timber to ensure the safety and stability of a building. These structures include creating elements such as doors, windows, staircases and general woodwork such as furniture and skirting boards. 

A Cleaner within the NHS is responsible for carrying out daily cleaning routines to ensure that hospital wards maintain a high level of hygiene at all times. A Porter is responsible for safely moving patients between hospital wards, transporting medical equipment from one room to another and providing clean linen throughout a hospital.
