Youth Worker - SEMH School

Do you have the resilience, empathy, and energy to work with children who present challenging behaviour and social, emotional, or mental health (SEMH) needs?
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Youth Worker to join a dynamic SEMH School in Bolton. The successful candidate will play a key role in providing targeted intervention and mentoring to pupils who require additional emotional and behavioural support.
Your Role:
Build positive, trusting relationships with young people to help them engage in learning
Deliver 1:1 and small group interventions focused on behaviour, emotional regulation, and social skills
Support pupils in managing challenges both inside and outside the classroom
Work closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and external agencies to create consistent support plans
Promote resilience, confidence, and personal growth among pupils
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Experience working with young people displaying challenging behaviour or SEMH needs
A calm, patient, and confident approach to de-escalation and behaviour management
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
A background in youth work, mentoring, or alternative provision (desirable)
Relevant training such as Team Teach or equivalent (advantageous)
