£106 - £115 per day (dependent on experience)
A specialist education provision in Chorley is seeking a caring, reliable, and proactive Unqualified Teaching Assistant to join their team. This is a full-time, term-time only role supporting children and young people with a range of additional needs.
You will work across classrooms providing general support, as well as working 1:1 or with small groups, helping pupils access learning, build confidence, and engage positively in school. Some students will require personal care, so the ideal candidate must feel comfortable offering hands-on support where needed.
This role is perfect for someone looking to begin or develop their career within specialist education-no school-based experience is required.
Key Responsibilities:
Support pupils with SEN and complex additional needs
Provide 1:1 and small-group support as directed by teaching staff
Assist with personal care routines where required
Help implement individual learning and support plans
Encourage communication, independence, and positive behaviour
Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff
Maintain a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment
Requirements:
No formal teaching qualifications required
Must have 24 months of employment references with no large unexplained gaps
Must hold an Enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service (UDS) or be willing to apply and pay for one
A patient, resilient, and enthusiastic attitude
Experience in care, support work, healthcare, or supporting individuals with additional needs is desirable
