SEND Tribunal Officer
£450 per day

Spencer Clarke Group are seeking an experienced SEND Tribunal Officer to coordinate and manage tribunal cases relating to Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), ensuring timely, lawful and evidence-based responses.
Working directly for a Midlands Local Authority, the SEND Tribunal Officer will work closely with parents, schools and professionals to resolve concerns through effective communication and early resolution, reducing the need for formal tribunal hearings where possible.
Essential Requirements:
- Strong working knowledge of current SEND legislation including the Children and Families Act 2014 and the SEND Code of Practice 2015.
- Proven experience in representing Local Authorities at SEND tribunals.
- Experience in managing complex cases, preparing evidence and coordinating documentation for formal hearings or appeals.
Duties include but not limited to:
- Coordinate and manage assigned SEND tribunal cases, from preparation to resolution.
- Represent the Local Authority by preparing for and attending SEND tribunals where necessary.
- Maintain an up-to-date record of all tribunal cases, monitoring progress against statutory deadlines.
Skills required:
- Highly effective written and spoken communication to present complex information clearly to parents and professionals.
- Skilled in resolving conflicts through mediation and negotiation.
- Ability to review evidence, interpret reports, and make clear, evidence-based recommendations.
