Spencer Clarke Group are working in partnership with a large number of specialist schools across Durham and surrounding areas who are seeking dedicated SEND Teachers to join their team.

The Role Will Involve:
- Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons for pupils with a range of SEND needs
- Teaching across a highly personalised curriculum, from early developmental stages through to accredited pathways
- Creating safe, structured and inclusive learning environments
- Using EHCP targets to inform planning and track progress
- Working closely with teaching assistants, therapists and wider multidisciplinary teams
- Adapting learning to meet complex communication, sensory and physical needs
- Supporting pupils with independence, life skills and preparation for adulthood
- Building strong, positive relationships with pupils, families and professionals
- Contributing to a supportive, ambitious and inclusive school culture
The Ideal Candidate:
- Holds QTS or equivalent teaching qualification
- Has experience working with SEND, including autism, SLD, PMLD, complex needs or SEMH
- Is creative, flexible and nurturing in their teaching approach
- Has strong communication and behaviour management skills
- Can confidently differentiate learning for individual pupils
- Demonstrates patience, resilience and emotional intelligence
- Has a genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs
- Understands safeguarding and inclusive practice within education
We welcome applications from experienced SEND Teachers, mainstream teachers with strong SEND experience, primary or secondary-trained teachers, and practitioners confident adapting learning for pupils with additional needs.
