SEND Quality Assurance Officer

£300 - £330 per day

6 month initial contract

Spencer Clarke Group are seeking a SEND Quality Assurance Officer to monitor, evaluate and improve the quality of Education, Health and Care (EHC) plans produced by EHC plan writers within a South East Local Authority.

The SEND QA Officer will be responsible for contributing to the continuous improvement of EHCPs, ensuring they are person centred and legally compliant.

Essential Requirements:

  • Thorough knowledge of the Children and Families Act 2014 and the SEND Code of Practice 2015.
  • Proven experience of quality assurance processes in SEND.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience working directly for a Local Authority.

Duties include but not limited to:

  • Undertake quality audits of draft and final EHCPs, focusing on legal compliance, clarity and measurable outcomes.
  • Track statutory timescales, identify areas of improvement and support plan writers to implement these.
  • Promote co-production to ensure that plans reflect the needs and wants of the child or young person with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

Skills required:

  • Ability to prioritise a high-volume workload to meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail for ensuring accuracy in reviewing plans and identifying risks and inconsistencies.
  • Able to interpret complex information to propose practical solutions for service improvement.
