Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Burnley

An exciting opportunity awaits for a passionate and qualified SEN Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team in Burnley. We are seeking an individual with a Level 2 supporting teaching and learning qualification and a strong background in working with children in schools, particularly in a Special Educational Needs (SEN) environment.

Key Requirements:

  • Minimum Level 2 supporting teaching and learning qualification.
  • Demonstrated experience working within a classroom setting, specifically with SEN students.
  • Familiarity with the national curriculum.
  • Ability to work with preferred age groups or across all year groups.
  • Compassionate and adaptable with excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with SEN, ensuring their individual needs are met.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to implement tailored strategies that support the academic and social development of SEN students.
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of lessons, ensuring they are inclusive and align with the national curriculum.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, parents/guardians, and other professionals involved in the child's education.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Level 2 supporting teaching and learning qualification.
  • Proven experience working in a classroom environment with a focus on SEN.
  • Knowledge of the national curriculum.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
