SEMH Teaching Assistant - Primary PRU (Longsight)
Full Time | January Start

Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people? We are seeking a committed and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a supportive Primary PRU in Longsight this January.

About the Role:
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with pupils who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, providing tailored support that helps them engage positively in learning. You'll be part of a dedicated team focused on creating a safe, nurturing and empowering environment.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils

  • Supporting learning in and out of the classroom

  • Helping pupils regulate emotions and develop positive behaviours

  • Assisting the class teacher with planning, delivery and intervention work

  • Contributing to a calm, structured and encouraging learning atmosphere

We're Looking For:

  • Experience supporting children with SEMH needs (school or alternative provision experience desirable)

  • A resilient, patient and empathetic approach

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • A genuine passion for helping pupils overcome barriers and succeed
