SEMH Teacher - Blackpool
Pay: From £150 per day (pay to scale for long-term placements)
Contract Types: Full-time | Part-time | Long-term | Temporary
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm, Term Time Only
We are seeking a dedicated and resilient SEMH Teacher to support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs across a range of specialist and mainstream school settings in Blackpool.

The Role


As an SEMH Teacher, you will play a vital role in helping pupils overcome barriers to learning by:


  • Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual needs

  • Supporting pupils with SEMH needs and associated behavioural challenges

  • Creating a safe, nurturing, and structured learning environment

  • Building positive relationships that promote trust, engagement, and emotional wellbeing

  • Working closely with teaching assistants, pastoral teams, SENCOs, parents, and external agencies

  • Monitoring progress and encouraging confidence, resilience, and independence

Requirements


  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or equivalent teaching qualification

  • Previous experience working with SEMH pupils or in alternative provision is desirable

  • Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 14.3% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
