SEMH Teacher - Blackpool
Pay: From £150 per day (pay to scale for long-term placements)
Contract Types: Full-time | Part-time | Long-term | Temporary
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm, Term Time Only
We are seeking a dedicated and resilient SEMH Teacher to support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs across a range of specialist and mainstream school settings in Blackpool.
The Role
As an SEMH Teacher, you will play a vital role in helping pupils overcome barriers to learning by:
Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual needs
Supporting pupils with SEMH needs and associated behavioural challenges
Creating a safe, nurturing, and structured learning environment
Building positive relationships that promote trust, engagement, and emotional wellbeing
Working closely with teaching assistants, pastoral teams, SENCOs, parents, and external agencies
Monitoring progress and encouraging confidence, resilience, and independence
Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or equivalent teaching qualification
Previous experience working with SEMH pupils or in alternative provision is desirable
Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 14.3% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
