We are seeking an exceptional Secondary Teacher to join our specialist SEMH provision. This is an opportunity to work with students who require understanding, consistency, and inspirational teaching to help them overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.

Our school supports pupils aged 11-16 who have experienced challenges in mainstream education and benefit from a nurturing, structured, and therapeutic approach to learning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with students.
  • Support pupils' social, emotional, and behavioural development alongside academic progress.
  • Implement effective behaviour management strategies and restorative practices.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, setting ambitious yet achievable targets.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and external agencies.
  • Contribute to EHCP reviews and personalised learning plans where required.
  • Promote a culture of respect, inclusion, and high expectations.

What We're Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience working with secondary-aged pupils.
  • A genuine passion for supporting young people with SEMH needs.
  • Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills.
  • Resilience, patience, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • A flexible and creative approach to teaching and learning.
  • Experience within alternative provision, SEMH, SEND, or specialist settings is desirable but not essential.
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
