Job description

Spencer Clarke Group are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Dorset to assist with the appointment of a Project Engineer (Coastal Risk Management) on an initial 12-month contract.

 

We are looking to speak to experienced Civil, Coastal or Environmental Engineers, with substantial post-qualification civil, coastal or infrastructure project management experience, who have ideally worked for a Local Authority previously.

 

The Project Engineer post is located within the Coastal Risk Team. The Coastal Risk team is located within the Flood & Coastal Erosion Risk Management (FCERM) team at Dorset Council. The team is primarily responsible for the delivery and maintenance of flood & coastal protection assets and harbour infrastructure.

 

The role includes project and contract management, CDM and ‘intelligent client’ functions associated with capital scheme delivery. The ability to manage the delivery of a coastal protection scheme and understanding of Flood Defence Grant-in-Aid business case development is essential.

 

 

Contract Details

Pay ScaleINSIDE IR35 – £18.50-24 per hour (the hourly rate is potentially negotiable, so please still get in touch if you work to a higher rate)

Location – Remote Working when not required on site, the successful applicant will need to regularly travel to the operational work areas of Swanage and Weymouth to facilitate project-based discussions, and also attend inperson team meetings at County Hall, Dorchester. So a driving license and own transport is essential

Contract Length – 12-months
