Job Title: Programme Manager (Transformation)

Location: Merseyside, Local Authority

Assignment Duration: 6 months

 

Our client, a local authority in Merseyside, is seeking experienced Programme Managers to join their large-scale Transformation Programme. This initiative spans across all areas of the Council, aiming to enhance services for the people living and working in Liverpool. As a Programme Manager, you will play a vital role in the safe delivery of planned outcomes, working collaboratively with stakeholders and contributing to effective programme governance.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide support to the Transformation Programme, ensuring the safe delivery of planned outcomes.
  • Scope and plan specific Transformation Programmes.
  • Engage with a range of stakeholders to foster collaboration and ensure alignment with programme objectives.
  • Supervise and plan the work of the programme team.
  • Develop Business Cases outlining the benefits of change.
  • Establish and contribute to programme governance.
  • Work with the finance team to ensure a comprehensive cost-benefit analysis of the programme.
  • Estimate staff resources and skills required for programme delivery.
  • Generate regular highlight reports for corporate reporting.
  • Capture and develop quantified information on risks and issues affecting the programme.
  • Conduct regular outcome/benefits-focused project reviews.
  • Utilize knowledge of the Local Government sector and governance to align programme objectives with the Council’s overall strategy.

 

Requirements

  • Degree, formal qualification, or relevant experience in a relevant discipline.
  • A recognized programme management qualification and/or a track record of successfully applying management systems to real programmes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to set objectives, plan and manage the use of time and resources, and work within tight deadlines and budgets.
