Interim Band 6 Specialist Paediatric Occupational Therapist

Rate: £20-£27 per hour (Dependent on Experience)

Band: Band 6

Hours: 37.5 per week

Location: MK42 and LU3

As an Interim Band 6 Specialist Paediatric Occupational Therapist. Operating from two bases in Bedfordshire, you will work autonomously, emphasising multi-disciplinary collaboration under the supervision of a Band 7. The role includes managing your clinical caseload, providing clinical supervision, and developing junior staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage an independent clinical caseload.
  • Provide clinical supervision and mentorship to junior staff.
  • Conduct assessments, treatments, and offer advice in mainstream schools, special schools, and other community settings.
  • Attend multi-agency meetings, EHCP meetings, and Tribunals if required.

Qualifications and Training:

  • BSc.OT or Dip.COT.
  • HCPC Registration.
  • Evidence of continued Professional Development, including reflective practice.
  • Knowledge of National Strategies impacting service provision (e.g., National Service Framework for Children, Education Act, Children Act).
  • Willingness to study for Fieldwork Educator qualification.
  • Member of CYP&F.
  • Knowledge of common paediatric conditions (e.g., cerebral palsy, developmental co-ordination disorder).
