Job description


The work is mobile and based around both the Camberley & Basingstoke area but a company vehicle is provided for transport during working hours

The Grounds Maintenance Operative reports to the Grounds Maintenance Team Leader and Operations Manager and is responsible for being part of a team to ensure delivering best performance & quality of workmanship on all ground’s maintenance works from start to finish on site.

The post is based at our Andover depot but working from other company locations may be required for extended periods to meet the needs of the business.

Delivering a high quality of workmanship covering all aspects of Grounds Maintenance on sites (Grass Cutting, Hedge Cutting, Weed Control, Pruning, Litter collection etc), and ensuring all contracted KPI’s are met.

Provide a responsive and professional service to customers.

Carrying out all works in accordance with company Health, Safety & Environmental policies & procedures; as well as contract-specific Job Sheets, Risk Assessments and Method Statements.

Ensure PPE is worn at all times and H&S is adhered to.

Proactively participate in and encourage Near Miss and accident reporting by colleagues to promote continuous improvement in health and safety performance and help to pre-empt the circumstances and practices under which injuries might be sustained in future.

Carry out all duties in a manner and style that reflects the Company's values and respects all employees and customers.

Lead by example to all employees, valuing the contribution made by each member of the team.

Vehicle Provided for work purposes


  • Full Driving License (Essential)
  • Good knowledge of Grounds Maintenance and industry experience (Highly Desirable)
  • B+E Towing Qualification (Desirable)
  • PA1 & PA6 Spraying qualifications (Desirable)
  • CSCS Card preferred, but not essential.
  • Health and Safety training preferred but not essential.
  • Enthusiasm and drive to develop a career in the horticultural industry.
