~ Enabling & Projects Officer ~

Spencer Clarke Group are working in partnership with Stoke On Trent City Council to appoint an Enabling & Projects Officer to their Housing, Development and Growth Service.

6 Month agency contract with a view to being extended on an ongoing basis.

Location – Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire, ST4 1RN.

Rate of Pay - £18+ per hour .Negotiable following a successful interview.

About the Role;

To develop, review and maintain housing related policy, including in relation to the Housing Revenue Account and to give advice and guidance in relation to it, and to ensure its effective implementation.

Key Responsibilities;

  • To review the effects of current policies, procedures and practices in relation to specific areas of housing activity and to prepare alternatives as appropriate.
  • To develop new ideas and innovations in housing, and to ensure that best practice is adopted across Housing Services.
  • To monitor housing related policy and strategy, including action plan delivery, to ensure that it is implemented effectively and, where necessary, to suggest changes.
  • To ensure effective engagement and consultation with key stakeholders, including elected members, tenants, residents, internal officers and external partners, in relation to housing policy and strategy, service options and service delivery.
  • To develop, disseminate, publish and make available a range of housing related information in appropriate formats, including electronically, to a range of audiences, including elected members, tenants, internal colleagues, partners, stakeholders and the public.
  • To have a good current understanding of all aspects of housing and services, including funding, service plans, value for money, risk management, quality assurance and performance management.
  • To maintain an up to date knowledge and understanding of appropriate technical and legislative developments and examples of national good practice in housing, in particular around the Housing Revenue Account, and other relevant areas.
  • To utilise appropriate pre-designed computer packages, or develop systems as necessary, to process, analyse, present and make available information and data.
  • To prepare and present high-quality reports to Senior Management, appropriate committees of the council, working parties and other bodies as required.
  • To maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders and staff at all levels.
