EHC Plan Writer

£250 per day

3 month initial contract

Fully remote working

Spencer Clarke Group are seeking a hardworking and experienced EHC Plan writer to support our local authority client in the South East of England in the production of high-quality Education Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) for children and young people with SEND.

The EHC Plan writer will produce person-centred plans based on evidence from professional reports that fully reflect the needs and wants of the child or young person with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

Essential Requirements:

  • Significant experience of working within SEND for a local authority.
  • Strong understanding of statutory processes relating to EHC needs assessments and plans.
  • Excellent writing skills with experience in the production of high quality EHCPs.

Duties include but not limited to:

  • Review and update EHCPs following annual reviews, reassessments or significant changes in need.
  • Liaise with families, SEN Case Officers, schools and other partners to gather accurate information and advice for EHCP drafting.
  • Work as part of a wider team of plan writers and assessment case officers to clear the backlog of needs assessments efficiently and effectively.

Skills required:

  • Ability to review and interpret professional reports from education, health and social care to produce well-evidenced plans.
  • Excellent attention to detail, ensuring plans are accurate, clear and legally compliant.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills to ensure that a minimum of 40 plans per month can be completed.
