Location: London, N22. (On-site, 5 days per week)

Rate of pay: £291 - £400 per day

Overview
The Deputy Childcare Manager will form part of the senior management team, supporting the Executive Head of Childcare Services in the day-to-day management of three local authority-maintained nursery provisions. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality early education and childcare services and provides leadership continuity by deputising for senior leaders when required.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the Executive Head of Childcare Services in overseeing the daily operations of nursery provisions and ensuring high-quality childcare practice.
- Deputise for the Executive Head of Childcare Services and the Executive Head of Children's Centre Services during periods of absence.
- Contribute to the development of the centres' ethos, policies and practices, ensuring a focus on high-quality early education and inclusive childcare provision.
- Assist in meeting Ofsted requirements and preparing for inspection.
- Support monitoring and setting of operational budgets across the centres.
- Lead staff in reviewing children's development, planning next steps, and ensuring individual needs are met.
- Identify, deliver, and support training, mentoring, and professional development for childcare staff.
- Share responsibility for staff supervision, performance management, capability, disciplinary processes, and ongoing professional development.
- Support implementation and monitoring of safeguarding policies and procedures; act as safeguarding lead in the absence of the Executive Head of Childcare Services.
- Oversee admissions, welfare, and progress of vulnerable two-year-olds and ensure smooth transitions into 3-4 year-old placements.
- Assist with the administration of childcare fees alongside the Executive Head and Finance Officer.
- Work flexibly across multiple borough sites as required.
Essential Experience
- Experience working within Early Years settings delivering integrated care, education, and family support services.
- Knowledge and experience of Ofsted and day-care inspection processes.
