Job Title: Behavior Support Teaching Assistant

Location: Rawtenstall, Lancashire

Qualifications Required:

  • Minimum Level 2 Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification
  • Relevant certification or qualification related to working with children in schools
  • Experience working in a classroom setting with a strong understanding of the national curriculum

Responsibilities:
As a Behavior Support Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment for students. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing targeted support to students with behavioral challenges
  • Assisting in the implementation of behavior management strategies
  • Collaborating with teachers to create and maintain a positive classroom atmosphere
  • Supporting the learning and development of students in accordance with the national curriculum
  • Monitoring and recording student progress, reporting findings to relevant staff
  • Engaging in one-on-one or small group activities to enhance student engagement and understanding
  • Building positive relationships with students, staff, and parents to facilitate effective communication

Requirements:

  • Minimum Level 2 Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification
  • Proven experience working in a classroom environment
  • Familiarity with the national curriculum
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to implement behavior management strategies effectively
  • Patience and empathy when working with students facing behavioral challenges
  • Flexibility to work with students across different year groups or focus on specific age ranges

Preferred Qualities:

  • Experience working with students with special educational needs
  • Ability to adapt teaching techniques to suit individual student needs
  • Knowledge of additional strategies for supporting behavioral and emotional development

Working Hours:
Part-time hours may be accommodated, providing flexibility for the right candidate.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
