We recently caught up with Senior Consultant, Sam Stanton, to discover more about his time at Spencer Clarke Group, what's next for him and what he loves most about what he does.
How long have you worked at Spencer Clarke Group?
I have been working at Spencer Clarke Group since October 2020. My time here so far has gone really fast but I have loved every minute.
What markets do you specialise in?
I specialise in Construction, Trades and Labour nationwide.
What do you love most about what you do?
I love the culture of the company, the team members I have and that every day here is different. This makes coming to work very enjoyable and the variation day to day means work is never boring. Spencer Clarke Group really is a great place to work!
What motivates you at work?
Building strong relationships with my clients is important to me and when I have a good rapport with a client, this motivates me to find them their ideal candidate.
I am also motivated by knowing that I can help candidates find their next role in the industry and make a positive impact on their work life.
How would you describe working at Spencer Clarke Group?
Working at Spencer Clarke Group is always fun, supportive and the team here are always striving to be the best and achieve their goals.
We have a really good balance between working hard and having fun and this makes for a really happy office environment.
Tell us about your career path so far
Before my career in the recruitment industry, I used to work as an electrician and from there I then went into Account Management positions.
For the last 4 years I have worked in recruitment covering different sectors. I have now found a sector that I am really enjoying working in here at Spencer Clarke Group.
How would your colleagues describe you?
I think my colleagues would probably describe me as a chilled, football mad and sociable person!
Where are we most likely to find you outside of work
Outside of work you will find me either in the pub, playing some sort of sports or out and about with my kids and family!
Tell us something we’d never guess about you!
When I was younger I used to play the violin, this isn’t something I kept up though!
What’s next for you at Spencer Clarke Group?
I hope my future at Spencer Clarke Group sees me developing my market to make it as strong as possible and I would also like to progress to a team manager position one day!
The opportunities for progression here are great, so this is something I will definitely focus on.

I’d say America.
What advice would you give to your young self?
I would tell myself to work hard and enjoy every day!
Have you ever met anyone famous?
I have met a few footballers!
What three items would you take with you to a deserted island?
I would take filtered water, a boat, and a mirror.
Do you have any pets?
My kids have a rabbit named Cooper!
Do you have any hidden talents?
Maybe…
What’s the best gig you’ve been to?
Arctic Monkeys at Hyde Park and Foo Fighters.
What animal is your spirit animal?
I would say it is a protective lion.
What’s your guilty pleasure?
My guilty pleasure is definitely 80’s music!
