Meet the Team - Cameron Nicholls

We recently caught up with Senior Consultant, Cameron Nicholls, to discover how his career path led him to the Spencer Clarke Group doors, what's next for him and what he loves most about his role.

How long have you worked at Spencer Clarke Group?

I have worked here since January 2019!

What markets do you specialise in?

I specialise in Social Housing in the Public Sector.

What do you love most about what you do?

I love filling roles for clients with a quick turnaround to ensure the continuity of their operations.

I also really appreciate the great incentives that are awarded within Spencer Clarke Group for hard work!

What motivates you at work?

It’s a great feeling when I find a candidate a role that they’re really happy in and they can see themselves working there for the long term!

I am also motivated by the vision of providing myself and my family with a comfortable life.

We also have a great team where we push each other to achieve more and I’m also happy to offer any words of advice whenever needed!

How would you describe working at Spencer Clarke Group?

I wouldn’t describe it as your standard run of the mill office! We have a great balance between fun and hard work, which is very hard to come by!

There is always something going on in the office as well, such as the various incentives and games we play like Deal or No Deal and the Weakest Link, which is always a great laugh!

Tell us about your career path so far

After leaving University, I began my working career working in sales for an international job in the aviation sector. Whilst working there I realised a career in recruitment was the path I wanted to go down.

Since joining Spencer Clarke Group, I can’t imagine myself working anywhere else!

How would your colleagues describe you?

I think they would describe me as a fairly easy-going person, easy to get along with and always up for a laugh!

Where are we most likely to find you outside of work?

You’ll probably find me on a night out or at the pub! I also like to go and eat at different restaurants that I haven’t been to before!

Tell us something we’d never guess about you!

I used to run cross country at county level but since going to University, my fitness levels seem to have dropped a bit, I can’t imagine why!

What’s next for you at Spencer Clarke Group?

Having got myself into Social Housing here at Spencer Clarke Group, I aim to grow this market to its full potential and eventually intend to make my own hires as we grow!

What’s your favourite film?

Saving Private Ryan.

Where’s the best place you’ve travelled to?

I would have to say either Bali or Hong Kong!

What advice would you give to your young self?

Put a £1000 on Leicester City to win the Premier League in the 2015/16 season!

Have you ever met anyone famous?

Yes, plenty!

What three items would you take with you to a deserted island?

My phone, pringles and a chef as I wouldn’t say I’m the greatest of cooks!

Do you have any pets?

Yes, a cat called Sophie.

Do you have any hidden talents?

None that I can think of, sorry!

What’s the best gig you’ve been to?

ANTS at Ushuaïa in Ibiza.

What animal is your spirit animal?

I used to have the nickname “Greyhound” when I played football as I was pretty quick! So I would probably say that!

What’s your guilty pleasure?

I’m a big fan of sci-fi films!
